Maybe it was in a childhood book. Morning Glory Lane. I wanted to live on Morning Glory Lane or any lane with a beautiful name. There is a strong memory – the kind in which you actually feel you're there – of siblings and me on a hot summer day in Northern Minnesota. Haying season – I can smell it. Playing on the side of the road by a culvert, we are making our own roads in the fine sand that had filtered through and settled after a rain. Mine is named Morning Glory Lane. I'd never seen a morning glory, but I knew it had to be something to behold. And the dream began.
Decades pass and I live on 39th Avenue, 41st Avenue, 165th Street, 256th Street, HC 75 (which was modernized to 44th Street) but never a lane with a beautiful name.
Until now.
Now I live on Ladyslipper Lane -- so unique that there are only two other residences on it.
Lately I'm discovering “bucket list” items that I had never put on an actual list are being fulfilled fairly often. Living on Ladyslipper Lane is one of those.
Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
