I do not operate a confessional (although sometimes I think I should), but in the past couple of weeks two people have confessed to me that as children they surreptitiously opened up and looked at their Christmas gifts beforehand (and I must confess as well), only to deeply regret it later. Now, like me, they want all gifts to be surprises, whether good or bad.

Today I was privileged to be a surprise gift bearer. I drove a few hours to make a quick visit and drop off a package. As I was doing so, another person of influence arrived and offered an unexpected release. As my giftee experienced an afternoon of lunch and shopping, I was told over and over just how much they had hoped and dreamed to get out and about today.

I didn’t know about the dream, but I knew I had to make that trip today. To my great blessing, God used me as part of the vehicle to give a much-needed and very precious gift.

That’s what life is all about — and God is so amazingly good!
