Mission statements. The King and I chuckle about them often — especially since they take up an inordinate amount of time and energy to write, often causing division — especially when they’re decided upon by a group that is replaced regularly along with their ideas — and most especially because they're rarely read or followed.
Nevertheless, I did proclaim a mission when I started this blog, stated plainly at the beginning. It is my daily goal.
This day I am grateful:
... that even though my computer was in the shop for five days, I didn’t miss it as much as I thought I would.
... that, apparently, I DO have a life!
... for good medical reports after a weekend of concern.
... for a heart of joy on Monday remembering church on Sunday.
... for pork chops on the grill and applesauce.
... for guys at work who, with a straight face, make me laugh out loud. (“I had a date last night with a gal whose last name was Wright. It wasn’t until later in the evening that I found out her first name was Always.”)
For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast. Proverbs 15:15
